January 17, 1913 - April 16, 2000

Known affectionately to her family and friends as "Lily".  One of three children born to George Isaac Herbert Heesom and Lilian Lawson in Edmonton, London, England.

Lilian married Albert Pugh February 9, 1940

Lilian, along with her mother and father operated the Railway Hotel (later known as the Railway Inn, now known as the Jolly Fisherman Pub) located at 8 Station Road, Stanstead St. Margarets, Hertfordshire, England.
Upon his return from WW II, her husband Albert Pugh joined family operations of the pub. Later, upon the retirement of her parents, Lilian and Albert assumed full pub operation.
The pub was sold in 1955 and  the family moved to Box Hill, Surrey where they operated the "Post Office Stores" that provided the community with grocery and postal services. The family later moved to Crewes Hill, Middlesex where they operated a nursery growing fresh vegetables.
  In 1957 Lilian and her husband made the decision to follow the footsteps of her daughter Eileen and imigrate to America. On May 28, 1957, Lilian and her family set sail on the ocean liner Queen Mary.  Upon arival they stayed with her daughter Eileen and husband James Black at 36 Freeman Street, Wollaston, Massachusetts.  Three months later the family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and made their home at 1519 SW 13th Court.  Her husband then founded a carpet installation business and Lilian worked as food service manager for Broward County Public Schools. in 1973 she became president of the Broward County School Food Service Association.
Upon retirement in 1976, Lilian and her husband returned to England, living at 40 Epple Bay Road, Birchington, Kent.  In 1983 Lilian and Albert moved back to Fort Lauderdale to be close to their children. Finally they decided to move to Midwest City, Oklahoma where their eldest son Graham lived with his family.  After a long illness, Lily passed away on Sunday April 16 in the year 2000.  She is interred in the mausoleum at Arlington Cemetery, Spencer, Oklahoma.
